A conviction would see them facing maximum penalties of 12 months imprisonment, a US$100,000 fine, and a term of supervised release following any jail term.Another man from the Dominican Republic, 58-year-old Ramon Esteban Paez-Jerez, was separately charged and pleaded guilty to a two-count criminal information charging him with passport fraud and voting by an alien.According to the criminal information, Paez-Jerez in 1988 was ordered deported from the US and failed to appear for his scheduled removal. He assumed a fraudulent identity and applied for amnesty, and in 1989 was granted lawful permanent status under the false identity and in 1999 was naturalized contrary to law as a United States citizen. On July 7, 2007, Paez-Jerez registered to vote in North Carolina under his fraudulent identity; on September 16, 2009, he made a false statement in an application for a US passport when he applied under the fraudulent identity and failed to disclose his real name. Then on November 8, 2016, he illegally voted in the election in Wake County, North Carolina, knowing he had illegally obtained United States citizenship.Paez-Jerez faces maximum penalties of 11 years’ imprisonment, a US$350,000 fine, and a term of supervised release following any term of imprisonment. According to a report by the High Frequency manager of the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB), the noise floor continues to rise on the HF bands in the UK. The threat of PLT [power line telecommunications] for the last 10 years has largely been superseded by noisy electronics, in particular switch-mode power supplies in lighting and solar PV [photovoltaic] arrays, and broadband Internet delivery systems such as VDSL2. A further potential threat from wireless power transfer systems (WPT) is being closely monitored at the ITU [International Telecommunication Union].Several countries have started implementing the new 5 MHz band agreed to at the World Radiocommunication Conference 2015 (WRC-15). These countries will continue to work towards the goal of achieving a harmonized band plan at 5 MHz across all regions. The operation on the new 15 kHz band segment by and large has been orderly. The main problems continue to be out-of-band operation by some operators. The RSGB is working with telecommunications regulator Ofcom and the Ministry of Defence to secure access to the new band next year – while retaining access to the existing 5 MHz channel frequencies. In his VHF/UHF Spectrum Forum report, VHF Manager John Regnault, G4SWX, pointed out that, earlier this year, Ofcom revised the noise-floor criteria used to calculate coverage areas for certain business radio users. The change from the previous figure of –104 dBm to –92 dBm – recognizes the increase in man-made noise in this part of the spectrum. The change resulted after surveys and pressure from business users of this part of the spectrum.Regnault said this should come as no surprise to users of 6 meters and 4 meters [70 MHz] in the UK, who already understand that the noise floor on those bands is primarily from man-made sources. Unfortunately, this degradation of the RF spectrum is unlikely to feed through into EMC [electromagnetic compatibility] standards that are sadly very poor above 30 MHz.Click here to read the report.
At the Mobile World Congress 2017, Nokia and Sprint demonstrated the benefits of massive MIMO, by showcasing how the technology can boost cell capacity by eight times compared to 4G LTE. The joint demonstration makes Sprint the first U.S. operator to demonstrate massive MIMO for TDD-LTE spectrum with 64T64R, for both the downlink and uplink on an existing LTE frequency bands. Massive MIMO, a key element of 5G, can enable LTE network performance well beyond 1 Gbps.Nokia’s newly launched AirScale massive MIMO Adaptive Antenna is part of the company’s 4.9G technology, which provides significant increases in capacity, lower latency and several Gigabits of speed-per-second on the path to 5G. The AirScale massive MIMO Adaptive Antenna is a milestone, driving capacity increases for megacity deployments and service continuity with 5G. The demonstration used 3D Beamforming software to deliver throughput gains of up to eightfold for the uplink and fivefold for the downlink. Eight commercially available devices operating on Sprint’s 2.5 GHz TDD-LTE band 41 spectrums were also used for this demonstration.Massive MIMO takes MIMO technology and scales it up, using 64T64R as compared to 2T2R/4T4R/8T8R in a typical 4G LTE network, but in a relatively compact commercial form. These antennas, attached to a base station, focus the transmission and reception of signal energy into small regions of space. This provides new levels of spectral efficiency and throughput, and allows data consumption from more users in a dense area without requiring more radio spectrum or causing interference. As such, massive MIMO is one of the key elements of 5G that delivers the needed high capacity, especially in the most densely populated locations such as city centers and high-rise buildings.Working with Nokia to deliver massive MIMO will be a competitive advantage for Sprint as it is more easily deployed on 2.5 GHz spectrum due to the smaller form factor of the radios, and is an important innovation that will take advantage of Sprint’s deep spectrum holdings.

Former Everton striker Victor Anichebe says he has grown weary of being racially discriminated against after being stopped by police while driving his car last week. The 32-year-old said he was pulled over by police officers after leaving a petrol station on Merseyside in England, an incident he labelled a “joke.”“A lot of the times, I am a lot more level-headed, but because of everything that’s going on I am just tired.“They followed me for a good five minutes. They pulled me over and said I drove over a kerb.“I said it’s a disgrace and it’s only because I am black and driving a nice car that you are pulling me over.“They just kept saying … this is routine and I shouldn’t be angry. But we are, we are all angry. We are tired of the things going on,” Anichebe, who also played for West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland, said.Merseyside police said in a statement it was their duty to stop people when there was a concern with the standard of driving to ensure protection of all involved. In the Anichebe incident, the driver was “allowed to carry on without any penalty,” according to the statement. The former Nigerian striker, who has previously faced racist abuse while playing for Everton in a Europa League game, stressed on the importance of education to help spark change.“I just feel people are not going to stop until change happens. I do feel like a lot of people want change. I think that a conversation needs to happen,” he said.Anichebe has signaled his interest in buying a football club to try and improve ethnic minority representation in positions of power within the sport. It is a problem that has come to light through the Black Lives Matter movement in recent months.“I will like to go down that route of owning a team. I do have a group of people that are quite wealthy and together we can come together. Instead of wanting change, we can be the change ourselves,” he said.

LYON, France: Andrew Price has been a big presence, literally and otherwise, in the coaching set-up for the Reggae Girlz, and his absence was felt. When the big man or ‘Coach Coach’, as he is fondly called by the Girlz, met up with the party at the Heathrow Airport en route to France, the joy in the reunion was evident as one by one they stepped towards him with smiles and greeted him. It was pure love. Price, naturally, was thrilled. “It is great!” said the man, who was suspended for 10 days by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) for comments made in an email. “It is as if I was not missing. I am glad to be back with the team. The Girlz are happy that I am back. I am glad we are back together,” he added. The feeling of being part of the unit, despite physically being apart, was fostered by the Girlz constantly reaching out to him. “It was good that the Girlz continued to reach out to me during that time. It really made me feel appreciated. When you do this type of work, you don’t get the appreciation from the people you work with, but it is good when the Girlz continued to keep in touch with me, asking me when I would be back, when will they be seeing me, and stuff like that. That really made me feel wanted, and that makes the sacrifices worth it,” Price explained. The outpouring of love he received at the airport cemented everything he felt. “The outpouring of love was great, just great. When I saw them at the airport, the enthusiasm with which I was received was like family reunited because that is what we are, family. “Ever since the first Wold Cup qualifying game, we have been a family, and we will continue to be that because that is what is going to carry us through this World Cup, the family orientation that we have. THE JOURNEY CONTINUES Now that he has rejoined the unit, the focus is on continuing the journey, Price said. “What is happening is that we are continuing the train. This train started in February 2018, and we are still chugging along the train line, and we will still continue to work hard. “Today (yesterday), the first day of training since I have been back, was great. The Girlz looked very enthusiastic. They were really into the training session, and we hope that we can really continue along the same vein for the remainder of our preparation at the Olympic Lyonnaise Stadium Complex, but it was really encouraging to be back and get the energy from the Girlz. So it is good to be back, and we are moving right along,” he added. With the group now reunited, the entire staff is working towards the goal of making Jamaica proud, and Price will be a big part of that.

It’s odd that Oakland is suing to keep the name…the Browns legacy was in left in Cleveland as part of a negotiated settlement – it was not part of the original lawsuit. The NFL essentially said “Yes, Cleveland can keep the name because we will do our best to bring football back to Cleveland”. I don’t see it happening in Oakland. The argument The Town apparently has of “We spent $240M with the expectation that the Raiders would be here a long time” is meaningless without specific details from the contract.
